S18
S18 is a synchro drive. The design is definitely not new, but openly inspired
to the ones by
Doug Carlson
and
Wes Matchett.
Probably the most original contribution in this robot is its single-sensor
rotating bumper: six antennas that rotate when they hit an obstacle.
The motion of the antennas is multiplied to a rotation sensor monitored by the
RCX.
This robot attended a game called "interactions" during the Italian Legofest on
Nov. 28 1999. See the

Here the rotative bumper has been removed. The light brick is just decorative.
